Safety First

Our steps and procedures to staying safe.

Roofing is one of the most dangerous industries in the United States. We take safety measures very seriously. Before we start a job, we post permits and inspect the site of the roofing project to know what areas to be extra precautions around. We check all our safety gear and make sure it works properly; this includes harnesses and ropes. We have a small huddle before each job to bring safety to the front of our minds. We check that all crew members have all their equipment working correctly. We follow ladder safety protocols, fall protection safety rules, and general construction rules.

While our crew performs the work, safety is always at the forefront. This starts by wearing the proper protective equipment, including

  • fall protection
  • safety glasses
  • hard hats
  • Appropriate footwear with adequate traction
  • hearing protection when applicable

Supervisors perform daily inspections, ensuring that safety requirements are met at all times.

During the summertime, heat, exhaustion, and heat strokes are a concern. We encourage all our workers to drink plenty of cool water and rest in shaded areas throughout the day. It takes two weeks to adjust to hot working conditions fully. This adjustment is lost if away from the hot conditions for a week or more. Acclimatization is especially critical for heavy work in hot temperatures. For crew members and supervisors adjusting to the hot conditions, we make sure they start with light physical work and shorter hours and slowly increase each day. We provide them with an acclimatization schedule.

We Are Professional

All workers have been trained to detect the signs and differences between heat exhaustion and heatstroke.

All crew members know the protocol for emergencies, from how to help the victim to how to contact emergency services.

During heavy rain and snow days, our crew does not perform any jobs. This is a precautionary protocol to prevent any slippery accidents.
